Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre is the result of former Governor Roy Barnes' goal to provide Mableton with a quality outdoor theatre. Shortly after his election in 2000, he contacted the Cobb Board of Commissioners and asked that a program for such a facility be developed. This was quickly done and Governor Barnes, with the support of the local legislative delegation, provided a state grant for construction. A comedian, actor and radio host born and raised in Washington, D.C., Nathaniel Stroman has been better known as Earthquake ever since he was given the nickname by his mother.

Lawn ticket holders are allowed to bring blankets for their picnics. Beginning our 2019 season, lawn chairs are allowed in the lawn area. Food and drink are available for purchase inside the amphitheatre.

Battling the pain and debilitating effect of PTSD, Dorn found comfort behind the camera.
Photography has sent Dorn around the globe, inspiring his passion for civil activism. In 1995, Dorn assembled and led a group of forty-two men to the Million Man March. Together, they spent five days walking from Philadelphia to Washington DC.In his travels, Dorn observed a common theme amongst the youth of the world.
